Delegates:This course is for Database Administrators, Systems Administrators and Network Managers who need to plan and implement database backup and recovery strategies for an Oracle9i database and who are also required to configure Oracle databases in a network environment.
Objectives:
By the end of this course, the delegate will have been given practical experience in using the various Oracle backup and recovery commands. He/she will gain experience of different failure and restore situations. The delegate will also have had practical experience in configuring Net Architecture, the Oracle Shared Server and the Listener. Experience of troubleshooting simple network problems will also have been gained. This course covers the main backup and recovery and networking topics for the Oracle9i Database: Fundamentals II examination (IZ0-032).

A working knowledge of SQL*Plus and an understanding of Oracle database administration is required. This can be obtained by attendance on the Pre-Requisite courses. A good working knowledge of operating system commands is also required.
