Training Course Summary:

Citrix® MetaFrame® Presentation Server provides a flexible and
robust way to deploy applications and information, allowing
organizations to use legacy hardware and software while
supporting cutting-edge technologies in the same enterprise
environment. The Enterprise Edition is designed for singlepoint
control of server farms, licenses and resources in large
organizations, providing system monitoring and analysis,
application packaging and delivery and integration with thirdparty
Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) management consoles such as HP® OpenView®, Tivoli® NetView®, and CA Unicenter®.

This course teaches learners the best practices required to
effectively maintain and monitor an enterprise MetaFrame
Presentation Server environment running MetaFrame Presentation Server 3.0, Enterprise Edition. This course also teaches learners how to successfully introduce new components into the environment without interrupting existing production activities.

This course is intended for individuals who have intermediate MetaFrame Presentation Server administration skills and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2000 Server or Windows Server 2003, including Active Directory.

Pre-Requisites:

It is recommended that learners have experience using either Microsoft Windows 2000 Server or Windows Server 2003, including the following:

An understanding of DNS and Active Directory
The ability to create policies and profiles
The ability to administer users, home directories, user profiles and security
It is also recommended that learners attend the following instructor-led training course: - CTX-1223BI Citrix MetaFrame Presentation Server 3.0: Enterprise Edition Administration

Monitor server performance, services, resource usage and the network
Generate data and reports and use the data to forecast and plan for future business needs
Identify the importance of a change management process
Identify and perform the tasks required to maintain the servers and data in the environment
Identify solutions to optimize server, published application, printing and ICA session performance
Identify the processes associated with application integration in a MetaFrame Presentation Server environment
