Anyone who needs introductory knowledge about the DB2 functions or is preparing for further education on any of the products in the DB2 Family.Training Course Overview/Content:
On completion you will be able to:o List and describe the major components of IBM's relational databases.
Most components apply to all DB2s but technical details of this course
focus on DB2 UDB for OS/390 and DB2 UDB for UNIX, Windows, OS/2.
o Explain the characteristics of a DB2 table.
o Identify the characteristics of various DB2 column data types.
o Comprehend the processing instructions given to DB2 via simple SQL
statements.
o List and describe several ways to build (write) and execute SQL statements
and the steps needed to imbed SQL statements in an application program.
o Explain some of the functions performed by, and responsibilities of,
Database and Systems Administrators.
o Understand the basic concepts of data modeling.
o Describe the concepts involved with distributed data and some
implementation considerations.
o Describe data warehousing and some of the products involved.
o Establish a base for more specialised DB2 education.
