Training Course Summary:
This training course focuses on performing scripted installations of ESX servers, Service Console security, monitoring of ESX servers, VMware HA, Distributed Resource Scheduling, VMware Consolidated Backup and fault analysis. It is a continuation of a preceding course entitled VMware Infrastructure 3: Install and Configure. Completion of this course meets the class requirements for VMware Certified Professional.At the end of the course, you will be able to:
• Perform scripted installations
• Learn specific commands used to administer an ESX server
• Understand and configure security on the Service Console
• Monitor Virtual Infrastructure
• Configure and implement VMware HA, DRS and VCB
• Perform fault analysis in Virtual Infrastructure
Pre-Requisites:
Required:• Achievement of a passing score on a short on-line pre-test
• Comfort with fundamental Linux commands (such as ls and cp) and a Linux text editor
Recommended:
• Completion of VMware Infrastructure 3: Install and Configure or VMware Infrastructure 3: What’s New (In conjunction with Virtual Infrastructure w/ESX Server and VirtualCenter), or equivalent experience with VMware Infrastructure

Becoming a VMware Certified Professional is a straightforward, three-step process:
Participate in a VMware authorized course that is instructor-led to learn best practices and gain hands-on experience. If you are a current VCP, there are no course prerequisites.
Gain hands-on experience with VMware. Individuals who do not have the hands on experience find it very difficult to pass the exam.
