This course covers how to install and configure Backup

Students will also learn tape configuration and media
rotation methods, as well as how to troubleshoot Backup
Exec.
This course also covers advanced functions of Backup
Exec 11d for Windows Servers, such as configuring
advanced settings, managing the Backup Exec
database, and using Remote Agents to protect Windows,
Linux, and UNIX servers.

By the end of this course, you should be able to:
• Describe the basic functions of Backup Exec.
• Configure different types of devices for use with
Backup Exec.
• Manage media used by Backup Exec.
• Create Backup Exec backup jobs.
• Apply backup, media rotation, and tape flow models
to a data protection environment.
• Configure job policies and templates.
• Effectively manage Backup Exec activity.
• Configure advanced Backup Exec functions.
• Manage, maintain, troubleshoot, and protect the
Backup Exec database.
• Back up various types of servers and workstations
using remote agents.

Pre-Requisites:

You should have working knowledge of administration and
configuration of the Windows 2000 and Windows 2003
platforms, and you should have experience configuring server
software and hardware. Knowledge of domain security and
experience with Active Directory are recommended. Knowledge
of MS-SQL Server is beneficial, but not necessary.
