Training Course Summary:

To explain the framework, tools and techniques covered by the ISEB Certificate in SSADM4+®. To provide delegates with details of best practice in the areas of requirements analysis, requirements specification and system design. To provide coverage of data and process modelling up to the level required in the ISEB Certificate in Analysis and Design Techniques.

Pre-Requisites:

A background in systems analysis or systems design is recommended.

Who Should Attend:

Business and system analysts, team leaders and system managers who wish to use a formal approach to the development of Information Systems, IT practitioners who wish to achieve a qualification in business systems development.

Training Course Overview/Content:

· Explain the concepts and principles of the SSADM® System Development Template and the 3-Schema Specification Architecture.
· Identify and document requirements for IT support for a business system. Explain the concepts and principles of SSADM4+®.
· Appreciate the use of Business Activity Modelling, Data Flow Modelling and Logical Data Modelling to investigate and describe a business system.
· Analyse and design work practices and job specifications in support of IT.
· Identify user interface needs.
· Analyse data requirements using Relational Data Analysis.
· Specify the details of an enquiry using Enquiry Access Paths.
· Appreciate the techniques within Entity Behaviour Modelling used, to identify events and enquiries and to produce a model of the behaviour of system entities.
· Describe the structure of and need for Business Systems Options and Technical Systems Options.
