Delegates:System Administrators and anyone who currently has experience in basic administration on Solaris and requires to extend their skills to use more advanced features.
Objectives:
On completion of this course the delegate should be able to administer Solaris using specific advanced features of the system.

Configuring Toolboxes in the Solaris Management Console (SMC)
Managing Disk Space in the Solaris Volume Management environment using the Solaris Management Console and standard commands
Configuring and Managing the NIS Network Naming Service
Control of remote File Systems with NFS
Setting up the JumpStart facility to automate installation
Managing Flash Archives for recovery procedures
Managing the System and Program Dump file environment
Managing system event logging with syslog
Controlling access to files and directories using ACLs
Allocating system tasks to users using Role Based Access Control (RBAC)
Requirements:
Attendance on the Solaris Introduction and Solaris System Administration Part 1 courses or similar knowledge is required. Shell Programming knowledge is beneficial, but not essential. This skill can be gained by attending the Solaris Shell Programming course.
Note:
This course prepares a delegate for the Sun Certified System Administrator Part II exam.
