Training Course Summary:

A developer focused course that shows how XDE can be used for visual modelling, and speeding up the development process, introducing you to the main modelling concepts within XDE, and on some more advanced concepts such as pattern development with XDE.

Pre-Requisites:

Recommended Prerequisite Courses
Students would benefit from having taken :

· Fundamentals of Visual Modelling
· Object Oriented Analysis and Design with UML



Recommended Experience

Prior to attending this course the student must posses the following

· Able to read basic UML diagrams
· Ability to write simple java programs

Who Should Attend:

This course is intended for Java developers who have a basic understanding of UML, and want to learn how XDE can be used to model in UML and help speed their development process.

Training Course Overview/Content:

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
· Use the Rational XDE tool extensively
· Have created several diagrams to gain basic modelling skills
· Understand when and why specific diagrams are modelled
· Have experienced round trip engineering between the class diagrams and code
· Have transformed code to database tables, and forward engineered some tables into sql
· Have applied some patterns
· Have an understanding on how to build custom patterns
· Understand the importance of setting up and using Rational XDE in a team
