Training Course: Introduction to Purchasing
training course enquiry
Training Course Summary:
Small traders have known for years the 'the profit is in the purchasing' but it is only relatively recently that this has been realised by commercial organisations in general, and yet it appears that many buyers have still to implement this maxim. Whether purchasing raw material to use in manufacture, goods for re-sale or distribution, outsourcing of skills and services or necessary consumables, there is now an awareness that 'cheapest' is not always cheapest and 'best' is not always necessary. Rather 'fitness for purpose' and defined 'best value' are two of the drivers for effective purchasing decisions. On average a 5% improvement in overall profit can be generated by proficient purchasing practice. The course examines how purchasing has a direct impact on profit and how to create and improve relationships with suppliers to generate cost savings and improve profitability. What You Will Learn
The effect of purchasing decisions on the company's profitability,
How to generate profitable working relation ships with suppliers,
How to ensure purchasing specification meets commercial needs,
Agreeing purchase criteria and specifications with internal departments and external suppliers,
Increasing your purchasing power to lower costs.
