Training Course Summary:

Test & Turn Up courses focus on teaching senior support staff the details about deploy-ing the Cisco Optical Networking Systems, 15454 and 15327. Because of the overall flexibility and scalability of these systems, they can be used to build multiple optical transport solutions. The premise of the course is to provide adequate hands-on practice with building and testing various general solutions and topologies so that students are familiar with the overall capabilities and can successfully implement specific solutions in the field. The Cisco Systems Advanced Services Team ensures the success of cours-es by providing our students with at least 50% to 60% hands-on lab time that reinforce lecture concepts. In this way, provisioning and testing methodologies and techniques can be mastered before the student is alone in the field.

This class teaches the skills required to deploy the ONS 15454 and ONS 15327 in a SONET transport network. Students are taught not only how to interconnect these devices, but also how configure the systems for various SONET topologies, provision card protection, interconnect with TDM network, build circuits, and deploy Ethernet and DWDM solutions.
Course Objectives

After completing this course the student should be able to:

Configure an ONS 15454 and ONS 15327 chassis with correct cards for solution
Provision SONET transport network, and solu-tions.
Manage system using the Cisco Transport Controller.

Pre-Requisites:

2+ year experience working with Telecom transport networks and equipment (e.g., T1, M13, TDM, etc.)
Experience using communication analyzers such as T-Berds, Tektronics, etc.
Basic knowledge of data networking (e.g., LAN, IP Addressing, etc.)
Personal computer operations (e.g., install software, operate keyboard, navigate user interface of lap top, run browser)
Basic knowledge of SONET/SDH theory and operation

The ONS 15454 and 15327 Test & Turn Up course is for Level 2+ installers, and individuals who need to perform test and turn up of newly installed optical sites.
