Mentoring is a sensitive and valuable type of development activity. It involves taking on the role of a trusted and experienced advisor to another individual, and requires a range of skills. This one-day course is designed to define mentoring clearly, so that the mentor is comfortable with the scope and depth of the relationship with the mentee. It covers a range of skills to do with interviewing and coaching within the framework 'lifecycle' of a mentoring relationship. The lively and challenging course involves exercises and roleplays to enable the participant to rehearse some of the key moments in the mentoring process.

Who Should Attend:

This course is aimed at people in a management position taking on a mentoring role with another individual. The mentor may be responsible for a mentee that might be a new joiner, a member of a development programme or individuals at key stages in their development. It may also include non-work relationships of a mentoring type, such as dealing with young people.
