Training Course Summary:
There's currently no course available for this part-numberThe Java Technology Fast Track Program II (non-inclusive) course provides students with a focus on Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE). This course is designed to teach experienced Java technology programmers the topics covered in the classes from Sun's enterprise developer learning path including Web Component Development with Java Technology (SL-314) and Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) Programming (SL-351). Combining what would normally take ten days (two weeks) to complete, this five-day, twelve hour per day bootcamp training event teaches an experienced Java technology programmer three of the core Java technology components encompassed by Java 2 platform: Enterprise Edition: Servlets, JavaServer Pages (JSP) and Enterprise JavaBeans.
In the fast track program, students can learn the skills needed to develop server-side solutions for the Web using servlet and JSP technologies. Students are provided with an introduction to the servlet application programming interface (API) and an explanation of how servlets are managed within a Web server. Additionally, the course shows students how to associate servlets, JSP technology and other Web resources together as a Web application and how to configure services such as error handling and security for Web applications. This course can provide students with the knowledge to create Web-based solutions using the JSP framework. Students can learn how to create pages using JSP technology, and how to use them as part of a Web application architecture. Advanced topics, such as how to develop and use custom tag libraries using JSP technology and how to integrate a Web application with EJB components, are also presented.
In the second part of the training, students can learn how to develop and deploy EJB technology. Students can gain an understanding of how EJB components are managed within the EJB technology container, part of an application server product. During the class, they can learn about and develop two kinds of enterprise beans: Session Beans (stateless and stateful) and Entity Beans. The course provides participants with the knowledge necessary to create J2EE platform-compliant enterprise beans and combine them into robust enterprise applications.
This course includes hands-on exercises in the following areas for Web technologies: HTML form processing, session management, error handling, use of database connection pools and Web architectures. During the course, students will create and deploy several Web applications using the Apache Tomcat Web server. For the EJB technology course material, practical hands-on exercises include these essential topics: Session and Entity Bean development, the Container framework in which entity beans function, persistence and transaction management features.
This program is a 5-day bootcamp held in a Sun training center. Your registration includes five 12-hour days of quality Sun instruction and continental breakfast. This program does not include lodging, meals or other amenities that are part of the inclusive fast track program held at hotel locations.
