Training Course Summary:

The HDS SAN Attachment Training (HSAT) course provides students with detailed information on how Hitachi SE9900 Storage Subsystems are installed, configured and integrated in a SAN environment. It familiarizes students with SAN technology and terminology and covers the tasks to be completed when setting-up HDS disks subsystems in SAN / Open Systems configurations. The practical sessions are run in both Windows and Unix environments, using Windows NT, Windows 2000 and SUN Solaris platforms. It specifically focuses on the most popular components utilized in a typical SAN environment (HBAs, Switches and Directors). On completing this course you will have installed a Brocade and McData Switch, and understand Zoning/Cascading, Licenses/Quickloop, Web tools, SNMP and troubleshooting. In addition you will install Host Bus Adapters (Emulex, JNI and Troika) and learn Persistence HBA Binding.

Pre-Requisites:

To succeed fully in this course, students should be able to:
Successfully complete the following courses: Basic Storage Concepts or equivalent, the HDS 9900 HW & SW technical courses HDS-330 and HDS-335
Successfully complete SANTECH (SAN Technology Basics) external course by Infinity I/O or equivalent

Fully understand and use HDS ZAM (Zone Allocation Manager) to make the list of SAN security complete
Troubleshoot "missing LUN" situations after security implementation and assist customers when facing this most frequent reported problem
