Training Course Summary:

How do you measure the effectiveness of training? How do you isolate its impact? What is the business return generated by the training function? How do you justify investment in training?

These are questions which refuse to go away, and training professionals are increasingly finding that they need to develop their skills in this area.

This practical and informative workshop is designed to save participants from having to ‘bone up’ on the subject from scratch! The theory has already been converted into practice by the trainer, who is regularly called upon to develop evaluation tools for clients.

This workshop is therefore designed to apply the theory in practical ways to participants’ own courses, through a series of real-world exercises, so that they leave having developed a methodology which can be used as a template for other courses when they return to work.

At the end of the course participants will be able to:

 link training investment to relevant business objectives
 prepare a list of questions which need to be asked at the design stage of a training course
 understand how to cost training accurately, and to calculate Return on Investment
 apply the relevant evaluation tool with confidence
 understand what not to evaluate
 confidently present a methodology to a group of fellow training professionals.

Pre-Requisites:

Experience of training management, but not of training evaluation.

Who Should Attend:

Training professionals who want to learn more about how to evaluate training. Those working towards Investors In People will find plenty of answers to the issues with which they are dealing.
