Effective team working: Work through the four stages of successful team building; measure the effectiveness of your team by examining tangible and intangible measurement tools. Understand the priorities and motivations of the individuals in your team. Appreciate why teams fail and by doing so avoid failure.Manager or leader? Learn the roles and responsibilities of a manager and a leader and apply them in your role. Undertake practical exercises to be introduced to the five key elements of leadership attributes.
Communicate for success: Enrich and refine your team briefings and general communication skills. Learn to be assertive in difficult situations and overcome barriers to assertiveness. Know when to use the 'magnificent seven' facilitation techniques. Deliver feedback.
Manage team and individual performance: Understand when it is necessary to delegate, and empower individuals through well-planned structures. Assess the three different management styles and hone your own style. Develop your training and coaching skills and learn the five-point process for minimising risk.
