training course enquiry
Training Course Summary:
The Sun Java System Directory Server 5.x: Advanced Design and Deployment (formerly Sun ONE Directory Server) course provides students with the knowledge and the skills to install, configure, design, and deploy high performance, highly scalable, highly available, and manageable Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) directory services architectures using Sun Java System Directory Server 5.x.Please note: Sun has recently re-branded Sun Open Net Environment (Sun ONE) Directory Server to Sun Java System Directory Server. You may see reference to either name within the course description and course materials.
Pre-Requisites:
To succeed fully in this course, you should have:Completed the course DIR-2217: Sun Java System Directory Server 5.x: Analysis and Planning. DIR-3300 builds on the knowledge and skills obtained in DIR-2217.
Optionally completed the course DIR-2337: Sun Java System Directory Server 5.x: Maintenance and Operations
NOTE: It is possible to attend DIR-3300 after having completed DIR-2337 instead of DIR-2217.In that event, you should expect some overlap in course material between DIR-2337 and DIR-3300.
Directory services design experience
Background in LDAP directory services and be familiar with Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) concepts. You should be able to design a directory architecture that includes a schema, directory tree, replication strategy, security (access control) policy, and an indexing plan.
Experience in installing and configuring Sun Java System Directory Server (Directory Server)
Ability to install and configure Directory Server, create new directory databases, select and create database indexes, and configure replication with minimal instructions.
Familiarity with the Solaris Operating System (OS)
Ability to log in as the root user and work comfortably within that environment
Who Should Attend:
Students who can benefit from this course are consultants, architects, systems engineers, technical support personnel, and systems administrators specializing in designing and deploying LDAP directory services using Sun Java System Directory Server software.Training Course Overview/Content:
