Citrix® MetaFrame® Presentation Server provides a flexible androbust way to deploy applications and information, allowing
organizations to use legacy hardware and software while
supporting cutting-edge technologies in the same enterprise
environment.
The Enterprise Edition is designed for singlepoint control of server farms, licenses and resources in large organizations, providing system monitoring and analysis, application packaging and delivery and integration with thirdparty Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) management consoles such as HP® OpenView®, Tivoli® NetView®, and CA Unicenter®.
This course prepares learners for troubleshooting deployment
scenarios that may be encountered when managing a MetaFrame Presentation Server 3.0 environment. Learners are introduced to the Citrix Troubleshooting Methodology, which is used as the basis for investigating issues that arise in IMA and data store communication, load management, client connectivity, printing and environments that utilize the Web Interface and the Secure Gateway.
This course is intended for leaners who have intermediate MetaFrame Presentation Server administration skills and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2000 Server or Windows Server 2003, including Active Directory.
Pre-Requisites:
It is recommended that learners have experience using either Microsoft Windows 2000 Server or Windows Server 2003, including the following:The ability to administer users, home directories, user profiles and security
It is also recommended that learners attend the following instructor-led training course: - CTX-1223BI Citrix MetaFrame Presentation Server 3.0: Enterprise Edition Administration
An understanding of DNS and Active Directory
The ability to create policies and profiles
Training Course Overview/Content:
Upon successful completion of this course, students are able to perform the following:Identify the standardized troubleshooting methodology
Identify the troubleshooting areas to investigate in a non-functioning MetaFrame Presentation Server, Web Interface or Secure Gateway environment, based on evident symptoms
Utilize the tools necessary to investigate the issue
Provide an accurate analysis of the results of the investigation
Take corrective action to find a resolution to the issue and document the results of any successful troubleshooting actions
