Training Course Summary:

This examination gives the trainee the opportunity to demonstrate their competence in the use of CAD.

Who Should Attend:

Those delegates who have completed our Basic and Advanced AutoCAD 2D Modules or experienced users wishing to gain a formal qualification.

Training Course Overview/Content:

Day 1: Revision of Syllabus to include:-

- Review of Examination Procedures
- System Requirements and File Management
- Establishing Template Drawing Files
- Creating Isometric Drawings
- Named Views
- Inquiry Commands
- The UCS Command
- Dimension Styles
- Creation and Modification of Block Attributes

Day 2: Examination as follows:-

Part 1
The first paper is a multiple choice question paper covering the functions used in CAD. There are four papers of which the candidate is expected to complete one. Each paper contains fourteen questions and the candidate must attain ten or more.

Part 2
The second paper requires the candidate to create a Template File containing Layers, Text styles, Viewports and Raster Image insertion.

Part 3
Part 3 is a drawing test. The candidate has to produce a series of four small component drawings and import Text using the previously created Template File

Part 4
The final part of the examination consists of two pre-prepared drawings both requiring modifications to be made to them. In Part A, the candidate is provided with the three partially complete drawings which have to be completed using a selection of Edit Commands. While in part B, the candidate has to dimension the drawing supplied and create two blocks containing attributes.

Success in all four parts will result in the City & Guilds 4351-01 CADD Using AutoCAD Certificate being awarded.
