Training Course Summary:

AutoCAD 2D based on AutoCAD 2008 / LT2008 software, but differences between earlier releases are also reviewed. Note, any version of AutoCAD can be used for dedicated company course requirements.

It is intended for those who require the basic knowledge and skills as a user to enable 2D drawings to be created efficiently using "hands on" exercises. Any previous computer knowledge is useful but not essential for this course.

Training Course Overview/Content:

On successful completion of the course, the attendee will be able to create any type of 2D drawing by the following techniques:-
1) Introduce Windows and use Windows Explorer for project file manipulation.
2) Enter/Exit AutoCAD's Graphical User Interface (GUI) and toolbars.
3) Use various command selection methods including context sensitive and icon menus.
4) Open multiple drawings, browse, search and extract data information.
5) Create new drawings from an existing template.
6) Control screen display including zoom and pan controls.
7) Draw, edit and modify various geometric shapes (not all commands).
8) Draw to exact coordinate points using various construction aids.
9) Generate and modify text using annotative scaling.
10) Create and insert symbol blocks and using the design centre.
11) Cross-hatch and solid fill areas.
12) Use the layer, colour, linetype and lineweight conventions.
13) Automatic dimensioning to standards.
14) Draw to a multi-scale, using model space and layouts (model viewports & paper space).
15) Plot scaled drawings including DWF and PDF formats.
