e-business, Intranets, Data Warehousing applications and Multi-media developments all need confidence in the quality of the underlying data resource.Data Management is the corporate service that assists the provision of these (and 'traditional') information systems by controlling and co-ordinating the definition and usage of reliable and relevant data. The industry standard approach adopted within this course sees Data Management as consisting of a number of vital roles and carrying out a set of critical activities.
Delegates will gain an understanding of the role of Data Management in defining and enforcing necessary procedures and standards in the area of database and application design.
The course provides delegates with the knowledge and skills needed to work effectively in the Data Management function within an IS department and is based on the syllabus for the ISEB Certificate in Data Management Essentials.
Pre-Requisites:
Delegates are expected to have some background in IT development, with practical experience of 'data' issues; OR in relevant business roles, including IS development project or IS strategy involvement. Significant DM experience is not required.Who Should Attend:

This course is based on a syllabus developed for the ISEB by the BCS Data Management Specialist Group.If desired, delegates can apply to be examined for the ISEB Certificate in Data Management Essentials. Parity will provide a revision day and examination whenever numbers justify this, immediately following the course.
Delegates wishing to take this option should also book course DMX. This examination in conjunction with others lead towards the ISEB Diploma in Business Systems Development (Specialising in Data Management).
