Training Course Summary:

This is the foundation AIX Systems Administration course. Through the SMIT Admin interface day to day operations, such as device, logical volume and filesystem management, user account management, job scheduling and software installation are covered.

Pre-Requisites:

Basic knowledge of a Unix operating system is required.
AIX Basics (Condensed) (AC13GB)
AIX and Desktop Basics (AU13GB)

Support staff and administrators of AIX.

On completion, you will be able to :
Understand AIX product packages and install the AIX operating system.
Understand and use the System Management Interface Tool (SMIT).
Use AIX Management Tools commands to :
Install and update optional program products.
Configure locally attached printers.
Manage users accounts
Implement simple system security.
Manage disk storage allocation.
Perform and restore system backups.
Carry out basic Networking operations.
