Solid understanding of networking concepts, principles, and practices, such as presented in Course 578, Networking Essentials, Second EditionWorking knowledge of the Microsoft Windows® 95 or Windows NT® Server 4.0 interface
Successful completion of the following courses:
Course 689, Supporting Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0 Enterprise Technologies
OR
Course 922: Supporting Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Core Technologies
Training Course Overview/Content:
At the end of the course, students will be able to:Describe the systems network architecture (SNA) network models, both hierarchical and peer-oriented.
Describe the functions and capabilities of Microsoft SNA Server in the networking models.
Install SNA Server, including selecting components, choosing a licensing method, selecting link services, assigning a role, selecting client/server protocols, naming a subdomain, and assigning the security account.
Configure an SNA Server computer in a hierarchical and peer-oriented environment.
Install and configure SNA Server clients.
Configure SNA Server for accessing host data.
Configure SNA Server for integrating host transactions.
Configure SNA Server Host Print Service.
Implement security in an SNA Server environment.
Monitor SNA Server for problem solving.
