This instructor-led course teaches students how to support the various features of Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS). Students will learn how to install, configure, and implement all components that comprise IIS. They will also have hands-on experience setting up a Web site.Pre-Requisites:
Successfully complete the following Microsoft Certified Professional exams:Exam 70-067, Implementing and Supporting Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0
Exam 70-059, Internetworking Microsoft TCP/IP on Microsoft Windows NT 4.0
Or complete the following courses:
Course 659, Supporting Microsoft Windows NT Server 3.51
OR
Course 694, Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Technical Support Training
OR
Course 922, Supporting Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Core Technologies
Course 472, Internetworking Microsoft TCP/IP on Microsoft Windows NT 3.51

Or be able to accomplish the following tasks:
Install Windows NT Server
Install Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) on Windows NT Server, including:
Explain how dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP), Windows® Internet Name Service (WINS), and domain name system (DNS) can be used to resolve TCP/IP addresses
Obtain and use a TCP/IP address from a service provider
Explain domain structure
Assign permissions to user groups
Training Course Overview/Content:
At the end of the course, students will be able to:List and describe the key features of Microsoft Internet Information Server version 4.0.
Install IIS on an Intel-based computer platform running Microsoft Windows NT® Server network operating system version 4.0.
Configure IIS using the Internet Service Manager snap-in for Microsoft Management Console and hypertext markup language (HTML)-based administration tools.
Explain the major architectural components that comprise IIS.
Establish WWW Service, FTP Service, SMTP Service, and NNTP Service.
Implement Windows NT Server and IIS security features.
Explain and implement Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) 3.0 authentication to a Web site running on IIS.
Add virtual servers and directories hosted on IIS.
Enhance a Web site hosted on IIS with active server pages.
Index a Web site with Microsoft Index Server version 2.0.
Explain and configure Microsoft Transaction Server.
Analyze and manage Web sites with Microsoft Site Server Express.
Qualifications:
This course will help the student prepare for the following Microsoft Certified Professional exam(s):70-087, Implementing and Supporting Microsoft Internet Information Server 4.0
