IT Professionals currently experienced on the technologies included in Windows Server 2000 and/or Windows Server 2003, and who hold an MCSE or MCSA certification and/or equivalent knowledge.

Session 1: Server Deployment and Administration

After completing this session, students will be able to:

• Identify the changes to Active Directory Domain Services in Windows Server 2008 and AD new capabilities

• Identify new server roles that will benefit a branch office environment and how to implement them

• Identify file service improvements that will benefit a branch office environment

• Identify print service improvements that will benefit a branch office environment

• Explain benefits on the Next Generation TCP/IP Stack in the branch office environment

• Identify the benefits of Server Virtualization in Windows Server 2008 in the branch office environment


Session 2: Branch Office Security

After completing this session, students will be able to:

• Identify Branch Office challenges

• Identify the value propositions of using Windows Server 2008 in a Branch Office environment

• Identify the benefits of a RODC and how RODC mitigates branch office challenges

• Explain how BitLocker benefits a branch office environment

• Identify Windows Firewall feature improvements

• Identify the benefits of using IPSec

• Identify how to configure IPSec for the branch office environment
