Training Course Summary:
This course focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and resolution of hardware-related problems encountered when working with NetWare. While the course assumes the use of NetWare 4.x or NetWare 5.x, the skills learned will have a great deal of practical value to network administrators as they optimize and maintain systems while using many other Novell products. The course explores a number of research tools that will assist the network administrator in acquiring the information needed to solve "real-world" problems. It includes extensive hands-on exercises, which make up approximately 60% of all class time. The course materials are designed to provide a continuing reference that will be useful back at the student's worksite.Pre-Requisites:
• Students should have taken all other courses in their CNE preparation OR• have had equivalent experience
• Basic understanding of personal computers, operating systems, and network technology
• Experience with DOS
• Experience with Windows
• Experience with NetWare NetWare or 5.x
Training Course Overview/Content:
When you complete this course, you will be able to:• Install/troubleshoot network boards & cables for Ethernet & token ring networks.
• Install/troubleshoot network storage devices (IDE & SCSI hard disks & CD-ROMs).
• Prevent, diagnose & resolve problems with Windows workstations.
• Diagnose & resolve network printing problems
• Diagnose & resolve problems with the server & network.
