The goal of this course is to give Web designers the knowledge and skills needed to design a highly available Web infrastructure by using Microsoft products and technologies. Students will learn how to make design decisions that will avoid single points of failure, and how to increase the availability of their Web infrastructure by adding redundancy and fault tolerance.

Pre-Requisites:

Before attending this course, students must have:

Knowledge about Microsoft Windows® 2000 Advanced Server. (This knowledge could be demonstrated by attending Course 2154, Implementing and Administering Microsoft Windows 2000 Directory Services, or Course 1560, Updating Support Skills from Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 to Microsoft Windows 2000, or by passing Exam 70-215, Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, or Exam 70-240, Microsoft Windows 2000 Accelerated Exam for MCPs Certified on Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0.)
Knowledge about Microsoft Windows 2000 Active Directory™ directory service administration and design. (This knowledge could be demonstrated by attending Course 2154, Implementing and Administering Microsoft Windows 2000 Directory Services, and Course 1561, Designing a Microsoft Windows 2000 Directory Services Infrastructure, or by passing Exam 70-217, Implementing and Administering a Microsoft Windows 2000 Directory Services Infrastructure, and Exam 70-221, Designing a Microsoft Windows 2000 Network Infrastructure, or Exam 70-240, Microsoft Windows 2000 Accelerated Exam for MCPs Certified on Microsoft Windows NT 4.0.)
Knowledge about designing network directory services. (This knowledge could be demonstrated by attending Course 1562, Designing a Microsoft Windows 2000 Networking Services Infrastructure, or by passing Exam 70-221, Designing a Microsoft Windows 2000 Network Infrastructure.)
Knowledge about implementing clusters with Windows 2000. (This knowledge could be demonstrated by attending Course 2087, Implementing Microsoft Windows 2000 Clustering, or by passing Exam 70-223, Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft Clustering Services by Using Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server.)
Knowledge about implementing Microsoft Internet Information Services 5.0. (This knowledge could be demonstrated by attending Course 2295, Implementing and Supporting Microsoft Internet Information Services 5.0)
Knowledge about designing network security. (This knowledge could be demonstrated by attending Course 2150, Designing a Secure Microsoft Windows 2000 Network, or by passing exam 70-220, Designing Security for a Microsoft Windows 2000 Network.)
