Training Course Summary:
This course provides students with an understanding of how the components of Microsoft BackOffice® Server suite version 4.5 are used to create the Intranet Starter Sites included with BackOffice Server. Using this knowledge, students can extend the Intranet Starter Sites to create their own custom intranet sites.Pre-Requisites:
Successful completion of Course 1347, Overview of Microsoft BackOffice Server 4.5, or equivalent experience.Recommended completion of Course 1080, Essentials of Microsoft Visual Basic® Scripting Edition 3.0 for Web Site Development, or equivalent experience.
Attendance at any one of the one-day server courses, such as Course 685, Installing and Configuring Microsoft Windows NT® Server 4.0, or Course 1042, Installing and Configuring Microsoft BackOffice Small Business Server, or equivalent experience.
Recommended attendance at the following courses:
Course 1140, Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 Overview, or equivalent experience.
Course 953, Applying Microsoft Internet Information Server 4.0 Technologies, or equivalent experience.
Course 1045, Overview of Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5, or equivalent experience.
Training Course Overview/Content:
At the end of the course, students will be able to:Describe Microsoft BackOffice Server 4.5 Intranet Starter Sites and the functionality of each Intranet Starter Site application.
Describe the common components used by all the Intranet Starter Site applications.
Explain how the BackOffice Server components are used to create the People application and describe how the application can be extended.
Explain how the BackOffice Server components are used to create the Library application and describe how the application can be extended.
Explain how the BackOffice Server components are used to create the News application and describe how the application can be extended.
Explain how the BackOffice Server components are used to create the Calendar application and describe how the application can be extended.
Explain how the BackOffice Server components are used to create the Discussion application and describe how the application can be extended.
Explain how the BackOffice Server components are used to create the Expenses application and describe how the application can be extended.
Explain how the BackOffice Server components are used to create the Helpdesk application and describe how the application can be extended.
